“Kindness and Authenticity Come First” — Inside The DQT Podcast

Interview with Damian, Creator of DQT

Interviewer: Thank you for joining us, Damian. Let’s start at the beginning — what made you decide to launch The DQT Podcast?

Damian: Honestly, it was the conversations I was having with people every day. I saw how much we all needed a space to speak openly — not just about the fun stuff, but the real stuff too. Social media can feel fast and loud, and I wanted something slower, deeper, something that felt like sitting down with friends. I started it because I wanted to give our community a voice — a place where they weren’t just watching, but heard.

Interviewer: What matters most to you in everything you create?

Damian: Two words: kindness and authenticity. You can’t fake care. If I’m not being real, I can’t ask anyone else to be. I want every episode to feel like you’re chatting with someone who actually listens — no filters, no pretence, just me, just us. Everyone deserves to feel welcome, no matter who they are, where they’re from, or how they listen. Inclusion isn’t an afterthought — it’s the foundation.

Interviewer: Why is community so important to you, and how does it support mental health?

Damian: We weren’t built to go through life alone. So many people feel unseen or overwhelmed online — that weighs on you. Our community reminds people: you matter, you’re enough, and you’re not alone. When we lift each other up, share our struggles and our wins, it lightens the load. Knowing there’s a safe place waiting for you — that’s powerful. It’s not just about being happy; it’s about being human together.

Interviewer: How do you make sure the space stays happy and safe for everyone?

Damian: We lead with respect. Every comment, every story, every interaction matters. We celebrate differences, we protect the vulnerable, and we call out cruelty gently but firmly. If someone feels left out, we step in. If someone’s having a hard time, we show up. It’s about being family — looking out for one another.

Interviewer: Let’s get technical — how do you produce the podcast? Walk us through your process.

Damian: I love this part! I record on a high‑quality mic through an audio interface into my laptop, capturing every word crisp and clear. Once recorded, I edit carefully — removing long pauses or distractions, but keeping the warmth and natural flow intact. I balance levels so every voice is easy to hear, no matter the device. I enhance sound quality, reduce background noise, and format episodes to work smoothly on phones, tablets, and desktop — and I add clear descriptions and transcripts so it’s accessible to everyone, including those with hearing difficulties. I test on different speakers to make sure it sounds great everywhere. Good production isn’t just about polish — it’s about making sure no one misses out.

Interviewer: Final thought — what do you hope listeners take away?

Damian: That they belong here. That their voice counts. And that kindness costs nothing, but means everything.
